Learn About The Mt. Rainier #10 Strain

Certain regulations in Washington’s recreational cannabis market restrict the types of cannabis strains farmers can grow. There is no open product allowed in stores. This means many customers aren’t making purchasing decisions based on aroma, and that means growers must be careful not to only grow a cannabis strain because of its great smell.

Of course, aroma profiles are still important, but sometimes smell can take a back seat to other factors like flower structure, trichome coverage, hair growth, color and overall bag appeal. Effect and high are probably the most important, that is what will bring a customer back for the same strain time after time.

What Green Rush’s Mt. Rainier #10 lacks in bag appeal and taste, it makes up for in effect, Blake Brush reports. Brush is the Lead Grower of Green Rush and former breeder at RedEyed Genetics. Mt. Rainer #10 is one of Brush’s strains that he bred during his time at RedEyed Genetics.

Learn About The Mt. Rainier #10 Strain

The Northern Lights #5 phenotype provides Mt. Rainer #10 with the body buzzing indica effects. Northern Lights is the world famous indica descendant of Afghani and Thai Landrace cannabis strains. Sensi Seeds breeds the Northern Lights strain, per Leafly.

White Lotus is the blizzardy byproduct of breeding The White with Snow Lotus.

“The snow lotus male is my current main man, he just does not throw out a bad hybrid, he is the star child of afgooey and a x19 leaning blockhead male (no sweet tooth traits present) and lets the female traits pass through in a cross while uping the size, frost, and potency,” per Seed Finder.

The Mt. Rainier strain is almost terpene void, Brush said. This causes the smoke to be crisp and smooth. When you exhale, an airy fresh smell fills your nostrils, like clean fabric softener after you take your clothes out of the dyer.

This high provides a lot of thought provocation as well as an electric body buzz and cannabinoid levels testing in the mid 20’s percentile.

Mt. Rainier #10 is all about the stone, it backs up what the terpene profile lacks, Brush exclaimed.

Learn About The Golden Panda Strain

Golden Panda is a strange strain. It’s all about effect over appeal. A cross between Pineapple OG and Gold Nugget, this strain might not have the pungent aroma and color of other strains in the Green Rush garden, but what Golden Panda lacks in ascetics, it more than makes up for with its high.

Pineapple OG is a cross between the more well-known Pineapple Express and some random OG Kush phenotype, Leafly reports. This is a 70 percent sativa leaning hybrid that packs a peppery pineapple taste with a stiff cerebral buzz.

Gold Nugget is the tropical consequence of mixing Stardawg and the Golden Goat strain, per Leafly. This hybrid is recommended for daytime use because of its mood and creativity-boosting properties.

Learn About The Golden Panda Stain

However, the genetics combine on this one, it comes out a 60/40 indica leaning hybrid, according to Blake Brush, Lead Grower of Green Rush. The trichomes stack brilliantly on the flowers, and the bland aroma, luckily, doesn’t translate to the taste.

The smoke’s taste is something like a lemon OG sour candy. Lemon-lime citrus with hints of pineapple was another was it was described. The terpene profile is prominent and it has a cult following for its “strong stone,” Blake explained.

Indica leaning hybrids are good for winding down after work or on the weekends. The pain relief and body feel will help you recover for your next endeavor. The Pineapple genetics pack enough mental stimulation to keep the couch lock at bay.

Learn About The Dr. Who #6 Strain

Dr. Who #6 is a strain worthy of the BBC One’s Timelord.  This beauty is the product of crossing Mad Scientist and Timewreck.

Mad Scientist is the creation of Sannie’s Seeds. This indica-hybrid was made by crossing Herijuana and White Widow. Mad Scientist is associated with heavy sedative effects and a citrus flavor profile, per Leafly.

Timewreck is another creation by TGA Subcool Seeds. This strain was created by breeding Blood Wreck with Vortex. A more common name for those is Chernobyl and Qrazy Train respectively.

“With the success of Chernobyl and Qrazy Train, two hybrids created using our Blood Wreck, I wanted to see what would happen if we crossed my favorite strain Vortex with genetics held in Blood Wreck a strain I am not partial to but love its medicinal effect,” Per TGA Subcool Seeds. The result was a powerful, almost disorienting sativa effects with waves of creativity coming to you on the come down.

Dr. Who #6 strain

Dr. Who #6 starts turning almost completely jet black in color during the last two weeks of the flowering process. The dark flower allows a sea of trichomes to shine across the entire flower. Green Rush tested Dr. Who #6’s terpene profile and the results showed high myrcene content. This would account for the strong sedative effects as well as the spicy, almost tobacco like flavors that come across. The grape terpenes shine though both aroma and flavor profiles. Lick your lips after you smoke it and hints of grape swisher come to mind.

This strain is as potent of hybrid as you’re going to find. Powerful mental stimulation paired with heavy body feels makes this strain best for veteran cannabis users. Even a few hits of this strain can send you into a wormhole, a few bowls and you might find yourself I a different timeline just like the Timelord, Dr. Who herself.

Cannabis & NFL History: Corey Dillon Sets New Single Game Record

Tangelina Jolie is a flower that is oozing orange and citrus terpenes. It carries high amounts of limomene from the Tangie genetics, combined with Epoxy OG and you get a sativa hybrid that is hard to forget.

Cannabis & NFL History: Corey Dillon Sets New Single Game Record

The bold orange aroma is a good match when watching Corey Dillon blaze bast the Broncos in the Bengals orange on his way to 278 yards rushing, which at the time set a new single game rushing record.  The Bengals we’re entering this game at 0-6 and on the verge of a meaningless season, per SB Nation’s Cincy Jungle. The Broncos scored easily on their first drive, and quickly after that made it a two score game. It looked like more of the same for the Bengals, until Corey Dillon rose up and single handed galloped, trucked and sprinted his into the record books and got the Bengals their first win of the 2000 season.

Watch Captain America, Smoke The Professor Chaos Strain

One of my favorite things to do is rewatch movies in my DVD collection when I haven’t seen them in years. Paring this experience with a weed strain is a great way to get back in touch with films that had a meaningful impact on your youth, it’s a good way to remember why a certain movie is good in the first place. Or, it’s a good way to figure out that a movie sucks and the only things connecting you to it was nostalgia. Cannabis makes the bad aspects of film painfully apparent and makes your appreciate the good for what it’s really worth.

There has been plenty of times that I have returned to a superhero movie and have been unimpressed after the hype and movie theatre shine has worn off. Avengers 2 was a let down compared to the first one. Iron Man 2 was a masterpiece compared to its follow up. The point is 2nd viewing can be disappointing, this was not the case with Captain America: Civil War.

I chose GreenRush’s Professor Chaos as the strain to smoke while I watched Civil War. It’s dank purple flower that might surprise you as a sativa-hybrid. Despite its color, don’t expect any couch lock from this strain. This strain lets me relax and be one track minded on the movie, but there was no hints of sedation or sleep-inducing effects.

Captain America is not only the best film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU,) to date, it’s in the running for best superhero movie ever made. The movie is about the fallout of the first two Avengers movie, as well as the opening sequence of Civil War. The world leaders are tired of The Avengers galivanting about and taking world security into their own hands. They draw up a declaration to make the Avengers accountable to the world governments and not just themselves.

This splits the team into two factions: Tony Stark’s side that says The Avengers need to be roped in. Captain America’s side believes in order to keep the world safe, they need to be able to act as they see fit with no restrictions. This movie is very emotional. You see teammates and friends choose sides they know will pit them against each other.

This leads into the most epic superhero showdown ever seen on film. Spider Man, Iron Man, Captain America, Ant Man and more clash at a German airport for ultimate badass supremacy. This scene is epic, and it allows the movie to live up to its Civil War name. After the battle, it leads to an emotional climax between Iron Man and Captain America. It is the most heartbreaking sequence in the entire MCU, and it changes the entire course of entire Avengers team. Honestly, it’s a bit of a tear jerker for a nerd like me.

Go grab some Professor Chaos and enjoy Captain America: Civil War. This strain lock you in to all of the action and emotion and let you contemplate this movie in an entirely new light. This film is GOOD. And not just for a superhero movie, this movie will surprise you if you aren’t sold on the MCU.

Professor Chaos Strain Spotlight

Professor Chaos has a menacing name and lineage to match. The Professor Chaos strain is the wicked daughter of Jack The Ripper and Mad Scientist. Bred by TGA Subcool Seeds, the objective with this strain was to combine the pain killing effects of Mad Scientist with the energizing sativa effects of Jack the Ripper, per Seed Finder.

Professor Chaos is a sativa-hybrid that tests upwards of 20 percent. The stimulating cerebral effects take effect quickly with mellow body relaxation that follows. There was strong mood-enhancing effects once the high hit its peak, however, TGA reports little mood effects with their tests.

Professor Chaos Strain Spotlight

Professor Chaos has beautiful dense nug structure with thin and subtle hairs covering it. The leaves are dark green and purple in color. The trichomes stick to your fingers and sparkle once you crack open bud. The purple stretches throughout the entire bud all the way down to the stem. Blake Brush, Lead Grower of Green Rush’s own mad scientist calls Professor Chaos “LOUD grape dank.”

Professor Chaos has a sour grape haze aroma profile with a strong earthy taste. This strain is a great hybrid, the high is right down the middle: Great pain- relieving effects with mental stimulation and no raciness. The warm and long-lasting effects contradict the scary appearance.

Professor Chaos is a great cannabis strain for post recovery after a hard work out. Pair this with a protein shake to get your head right back in the game. You can also use Professor Chaos after a long night out. Zap the pain and cloudiness away before you get back to work.

Locktite Strain Spotlight

Locktite is the beautiful love child of Gorilla Glue #4 and Mt Rainier. Another exclusive from Green Rush Lead Grower Blake Brush, formerly of RedEyed Genetics. Locktite is a sativa-hybrid that is testing upwards of 24 percent. “Our goal with Locktite was to add structure to the Gorilla Glue #4 and tighten up the internodes,” per RedEyed Genetics on Seed Finder. Gorilla Glue #4 by Josey Whales is a staple parent in many of Green Rush’s exclusive strains. The bag appeal and strong hybrid effects, that will lean sativa or indica, depending on who you ask.

Mt. Rainier is the product of crossing Northern Lights #5 and White Lotus. Named after the Pacific Northwest mountain for the blizzard of trichomes covering the flowers. This strain carries the visual ascetics from the White Lotus and the relaxing indica effects from the Northern lights lineage. Mt. Rainier is a heavy indica-hybrid that is all about effect. The White Lotus has a citrus terpene profile and strong indica effects that aid with depression, via Leafly.

Locktite Strain Spotlight

The Locktite flowers have a large, fluffy structure. The pale green flower allows the thick orange hairs and slathering of trichomes that take center stage. Smoking this, you get a citrus and diesel aroma from the White Lotus that has stimulating mental effects. A powerful body relaxation right behind it from the Northern Lights. This is a good strain for day and night time use, just make sure you clear your schedule to take advantage of Locktite’s potent effects. Just as the name suggests, Locktite will lock you down.

Tangelina Jolie Strain Spotlight

Tangelina Jolie from Green Rush has a fantastic name with genetics and history to match.

Her mother is Tangie from DNA Genetics. Also, known as Tangerine Dream, it’s a cross of Cali-O and a Skunk hybrid. She has a tall and fluffy grow structure, so make sure you have enough grow space. The citrus aromas are most likely evidence of a limonene heavy terpene profile.

“Tangie is the closest thing I could find to Orange Crush cut in seed form,” Blake Brush said, Lead Grower for Green Rush. Orange Crush is a sativa-dominant hybrid that is known for its heavy orange aroma profile. The father is Epoxy OG from RedEyed Genetics. Brush, founded RedEyed Genetics before pursuing opportunities in Washington’s I-502 recreational market with Green Rush. Now, his family runs the company.

When he was still with RedEyed, with got permission to use the original Gorilla Glue 4 from its creator Josey Whales. Gorilla Glue 4 is still one of the most common and popular strain in Washington’s recreation market, a lot of that because of the strains awesome bag appeal. It has a fluffy sativa nug structure and hits like an indica. RedEyed created Epoxy OG by Crossing Josey Whale’s original Gorilla Glue 4 with Double Barrel OG.

Tangelina Jolie Strain Spotlight

Tangelina Jolie Strain Spotlight

“For those of you wondering what Double Barrel OG consists of: White Fire OG x Raskals OG. Absolutely top shelf flowers reeking of straight gas, diesel, and more gas with a thick coating of classic OG funk,” per the RedEyed Genetics website.

Tangelina Jolie exists for Brush’s love for orange and citrus terpenes. He crossed the Tangie with two male Epoxy OG plants in the pollination process to keep the gene pool as open as possible, Brush explained. The result is a very orange-citrus tasting O.G. kush like, sativa-hybrid.

“This is where my passion for weed comes to a point. I love strong tasting orange, I just love the orange terpene profile. It’s just something I’ve always been passionate about,” Brush exuded

Big City Lights Strain Spotlight

Big City Lights is a specialty strain designed by NorStar Genetics. The genetic profile is complex and provides a unique experience when smoking it. Big City Lights is a “large yield purple OG in seed form,” according to Blake Brush, Lead Grower for Green Rush Cannabis. Green Rush is a small farm located in Snohomish Valley, they produce small, but sophisticated crops with unique strains. Big City Lights is one of those strains.

Big City Lights’ mother is Dark Desire and its father is Frisco OG.

Dark Desire’s purple color characteristics are dominant traits and consistently passes on its purple flowers to the offspring, according to NorStar Genetics. Dark Desire was the result of Gooey Breeder’s attempt at making a purple strain with extremely dominant characteristics.

Frisco OG another NorStar exclusive and is the offspring of Hell’s Angel’s OG Kush and DeadHead Kush. This is a Sativa-dominant hybrid with a strong citrus and pine terpene profile and carries the pain reliving effects like an Indica, per NorStar Genetics.

Green Rush started with 40 phenotypes of the Big City Lights strain before slimming it down to the final two phenotypes used to breed the final variation.

The first phenotype was a “deep dark, purple yielder,” as Brush described it. The smells are reminiscent of the grape scented markers we used to have as kids. The smell is almost artificial. The grape really comes through, so much so you almost taste it, Brush exclaimed.  Brush described the high from this plant as the feel of an OG with the thump of a strong Indica. You get that stoned feeling in your face, but it never travels to your body. You can stay functioning and productive throughout the day.

The second phenotype had little of the deep purple color as phenotype one, but the high that came with it was too good to pass up. Dubbed “comatose,” Brush said with a smirk on his face. The phenotype was “uniquely strong,” and reminded Brush of a pure Trainwreck high, or the closest feeling to one’s he’s experienced in the last decade.

Over one-third of this line became hermaphrodites, which means the female plants that alone will produce big beautiful buds, started growing male parts which produce pollen and seeds for reproduction, not smoke-able flower. “Hermies” plants can start a chain reaction that can ruin a crop.

“There were some that remained stable, making the [pheno] hunt well worth it in the end,” Brush wrote on an Instagram post detailing Big City Lights.

The resulting high of these phenotypes is supposed to give you the Sativa OG feels behind a strong Indica kick. It will have pain relieving effects while allowing you to stay productive and motivated throughout the day. This strain sounds perfect for post workout recovery. You can relieve your sore joints and muscles while allowing you to stay focused and knock out the rest of your to-do list.

Big City Lights is “has terps to match her color, just oozing berry goodness,” Brush exclaimed.
