Cannabis 101: Intro to Bongs Pipes and Other Glass

Glass pipes are an extremely common method for smoking cannabis. You can purchase glass in a variety of forms. These forms include bongs and pipes. The main difference between these two methods is that bongs require water and most pipes don’t.

There are many reasons for smoking cannabis with pipes or bongs made of glass. Using a pipe is extremely simple. You do not have to break down weed for a blunt or a joint. There is no heating a banger up for a dab. All you have to do is break a piece of weed off and load it into the pipe.

Glass pipes are also portable. Because they come in a variety of sizes you can find at least one that fits in your pocket, whether you have small or large pockets.  They are also affordable, pipes do not have to be expensive to be effective.

Bongs may have a higher price point, but this glass method of smoking should also be considered. Small glass bongs can sometimes be found for as low as twenty dollars at your local head shop. Bongs utilize water to percolate through the water, creating bubbles filled with smoke. When the smoke goes through the water it is cooled. This makes for a smoother way to smoke.

Not as portable to smoke is a disadvantage for bongs, but the cooler smoke makes up for it. There are more benefits of using glass over any other material for smoking besides cooler smoke, portability, and affordability. Rolling blunts all the time is not an affordable way to smoke. Because glass pipes and bongs use lighters to burn the weed you are able to control when the weed is being burned.

Handblown vs. Imported Glass

There are numerous reasons why you should head to your local head shop to purchase your first glass piece. Most recreational and medical cannabis shops will carry some glass. This is where you have to be careful as a consumer. Imported glass is not the same quality as American glass.

There is a distinct difference between the glass that American glass-blowers use and the companies that produce glass outside of America. Any glass smoking utensil produced in the states is made with boroscillate glass. This type of glass does not release any chemicals when repeatedly heated. Let’s face it, if you are using a glass piece to smoke weed it is being heated up repeatedly. This is important. Foreign glass manufacturers do not use a glass that is at the same standard. Commonly called ‘soft glass’ there is a definite difference between heavy duty boro pipes and imported ones.

You can just produce pipes repeatedly at an exceptionally low cost when using this type of glass. These pipes are fragile though and will have a higher tendency to break when repeatedly heated up. Glass blown by a known glassblower is the way to go. The quality of the product you will be receiving is outstanding. Ask your local recreational store or headshop about the local glass blowers that they carry. With the boom in social media most artists have an Instagram page.

Occasionally artists will do custom pieces, although the price for this will be high, having personal input on a pipe or bong would be a dream. Glassblowers might also be willing to repair their work if it breaks in your possession. While you will more than likely have to pay for the repair, this type of service will not be found with an imported piece.

Pipes

Pipes and bongs are very efficient ways of smoking, with pipes being much better than bongs. Earlier I mentioned that for smoking out of a pipe all you have to do is break off a piece of weed. Well, there’s a little bit more to it than that. When you utilize a pipe you create a single path for air with your lips, thumb, and the weed.

There is a hole on the side of the pipe, this is called the carb, make sure you cover it with your thumb. When you load the weed into a pipe you place it in the part shaped like a bowl. There is a small hole in the bottom that needs to be covered, but not sealed. When you inhale with the lighter to the weed and your thumb covering the flame will be pulled onto the cannabis.

When you move your thumb, air will rush in and push the remaining smoke to your lungs. This burns the cannabis and pulls the smoke through the hole into your lungs. Be sure to INHALE the smoke.

Available in a variety of forms there are pipes to appeal to all tastes. Sherlocks have an appearance similar to that of the pipe smoked by the famous detective. Spoons are the most common form for a glass pipe and share a structure similar to that of a spoon. Pipes that are blown by glassblowers, instead of being imported, typically have a higher price point. However, the price should not deter you from investing in a hand-blown piece.

Water Bongs

You already know that bongs use water to cool the smoke before it hits your lungs. Typically bongs have a bowl piece near their base that comes out. Some smaller glass bongs might have a small hole in the back of their stem. Either method works the same as a carb on a pipe. When you are done inhaling a hit from the bong, you will need to either pull the carb or move your finger.

One of the most useful parts of a bong is the occasional ice catcher. The benefits of ice are worth the additional cost of an ice catcher. The smoke arrives at your lungs even cooler. The larger hits from bongs can be intimidating at first. Do not let this stop you from taking massive rips. Many argue that hitting a bong over a pipe gets you higher.

Legal Cannabis Purchasing Limits In Washington

Forms of cannabis outside of flower have evolved to fit the consumer market. With legalization and strict regulation from the government, there have been strict limits imposed. These limits impact the amount of cannabis that someone can have with them and/or purchase from a recreational store. These legal limits exist to regulate the market and deter people from selling weed for personal profit.

There are a few basic forms of cannabis that must be discussed. Each of these forms has a strict legal limit that comes with. First, it is important to understand the basic forms of cannabis before the limits are introduced. Following these limits is important because they allow our market in Washington to continue to grow.

Flower: This is the most common form of cannabis you are going to find. Before the product has been extracted to turn into oil, or combined with butter or cooking oil to create edibles. Adults, who are over 21, are able to purchase up to one ounce of 28 grams of flower. Cannabis flower comes in a variety of weights from grams to full ounces. You can mix and match as much as you want, but be sure to stay at or below that 28-gram limit.

Oil: More potent than flower, this highly concentrated form of THC is extracted using butane or other extraction methods. Similar to flower there are limits on the amount of oil an adult is able to purchase at one time. In Washington, adults are limited to purchasing 7 grams of oil at one time. Concentrates typically come in gram packages, occasionally you’ll find half grams. You could buy 7 different grams of concentrates and have hit your legal limit for the day.

Edibles: There is a maximum of 16 ounces of edibles in solid form that an adult can purchase at one time. This can be one individual serving, which is highly unlikely, or it can be divided among multiple servings. Washington State has a 10mg per serving limit on edibles. However, you are able to buy packages with up to 100mg of total THC. Meaning, your edibles will be broken up into 10 servings of 10mg each. Edibles are not always packed in singles or tens, but there is a 10mg per serving limit. This is where companies have found methods to deliver more THC to their consumers by breaking up large edibles into 10mg servings. I wouldn’t recommend it, but you could eat 100mg of cannabis from a package of 10 edibles.

Cannabis also comes in a liquid form, specifically tinctures, and drinks. An adult consumer is able to purchase 72 ounces of cannabis-infused liquid.

What’s Not Allowed?

There are products that are not able to be infused with cannabis. The packaging also cannot appeal to children. You wouldn’t want your kid eating a heavily medicated package of skittles, would you? Fruit and juices are not allowed to be infused. This helps prevent children from eating things that they are not meant to eat. Dried meats, dairy products, and any pie that contains egg cannot be loaded with weed according to the Canna Law Group. Some of these laws may seem to be a little strange or strict, but compromises had to be made in order for I-502 to be successful in Washington.

Washington’s Edibles

There are numerous companies in Washington meeting the edible needs of cannabis consumers. Even with strict regulations on what can and cannot be sold, there is a wide variety of products available. Recently a THC infused sriracha sauce hit the market. Ciders, waters, brownies, gummies, and mints are also available. Essentially you are not limited by many dietary restrictions or by your taste buds.

Learn About Dabbing & Concentrates

Dabbing has seriously taken off in popularity over the last few years. For all kinds of people, they are a simple and easy way to smoke. They allow you to save weed while getting really high. This method of smoking concentrates offers a variety of types of oil that can be smoked. While some might be better than others, there are enough consistencies or types to meet everyone’s needs and desires.

How Concentrates Are Made

Concentrates are created by extracting the THC off of the plant matter. This can require the use of Butane, or another solvent, although there are other methods of extraction as well. Commercial companies utilize a system referred to as a “closed-loop system.” This means that the system has no openings for the flammable gas used during extraction to leak out. Before the commercialization of cannabis extraction, people would use cans of Butane and glass tubes to extract their own concentrates. This is exceptionally dangerous and should not be tried at home.

In a “closed-loop system” though all of the solvents are placed in a tank that has been pressurized. This tank is hooked up to a tube holding the plant matter. The solvents are then pushed through the extraction tube pulling THC off of the cannabis and into a catch jar. This has one huge advantage according to High Times, the solvents can be recycled.

How To Dab

In order to take a dab you need a dab tool, usually has a pointy end and a spoon on the other depending on the type. You can also buy glass dabbers that are a little bit fancier, but look better when paired with a hand-blown rig. To go with the dabber you will need a quartz banger or titanium nail. Your local smoke shop or rec store should be able to set you up with all of the necessary materials.

Dab rigs also come in a variety of shapes and sizes. Silicone rigs that are portable and indestructible can be purchased on Amazon for as low as $20. Hand-blown glass rigs vary in price and size dramatically, although entry-level models can be found for as low as $30 at some stores. You can also choose to buy a high-quality rig and spend your entire life savings. The choice is yours. I use a custom disc golf piece that was blown by a friend.

A rig and a dabber leave you wondering where your concentrate is supposed to go. That is where a quartz banger or titanium nail comes in. Personally, I prefer a quartz banger over the titanium nail because the flavor of the cannabis is preserved better. They do not stay hot for as long. Titanium nails have a bad habit of getting stuck inside a rig, which can lead to breaking at that joint. Titanium nails do have a durability advantage over quartz, but the choice between the two is personal preference.

You are now almost ready to dab! Lastly, you are going to need a propane or butane torch to take a dab. Heat either your nail or banger up for 5-10 seconds, maybe less depending on how hot your torch is. Take the concentrate that you have placed on the dab tool and drop or scrape it onto the nail or banger. Now inhale! Those sweet terpenes should begin filling your lungs. Careful, your first dab will probably kick your ass.

Concentrate Types

Concentrates come in a variety of forms. Textures vary based on extraction methods used and the temperature at which the product was purged of any impurities.

Butane Hash Oil (BHO), is the most common form of the concentrate. It has a gummy texture to it. Think honey with THC in it. The same consistency and stickiness, but you can smoke it. This form is hard to handle and can be difficult to separate into manageable dabs. The temperature at which the product is purged influences the consistency of the product. Because of its sticky consistency, oil has a tendency to be the most affordable of the concentrates. There are other consistencies that BHO can come in.

Shatter starts out as a slab of concentrate spread out on a sheet pan. Usually in one solid piece. It is then broken down into single grams to be sold to consumers. Honeycomb BHO looks exactly how it sounds. This type of BHO can easily be worked with because it is a lot less sticky than oil. Finally, depending on the extraction method,  BHO can also turn into a crumble. Crumble looks like crumbs of THC that can be easily scooped to dab.

Cannabinoids can also be extracted using CO2 as the solvent. Utilizing high priced botanical extractors with a combination of pressure and carbon dioxide to divide plant matter, according to Leafly. Hands down, one of the best ways to convert cannabis into usable compounds. This method leaves behind an oil of amber colors that can be smoked using the ever popular vaporizer pens.

Possibly my favorite way to dab is with Rosin. This method utilizes both heat and pressure to pull vaporize the terpenes off the plant matter. You can create Rosin at home, according to Leafly, with a hair straightener and parchment paper, although you would have better luck purchasing it from a marijuana store. The result is collected into parchment paper. This technique does not require ANY solvents. Meaning, all you are smoking is THC. This is method retains the most flavor in the cannabis. You truly get to experience all of the terpenes within the strain.

Clean Your Banger

Remember to keep your banger clean. You can do this with Qtips and 99% isopropyl alcohol. This helps preserve the flavor of whatever you are dabbing and prevents flare-ups when heating your banger.

Dabbing might be the most cost-effective way to smoke. You don’t waste weed like with blunts. You experience all of the terpenes within the cannabis without that nasty lighter taste. Finally, you get exceptionally high off just a bit of weed.

Learn About Different Types Of Terpenes

Terpenes are hydrocarbons seen in the oils of plants. While they are an important part of the cannabis plant, terpenes are also found in all fruits, vegetables, and herbs. Terpenes are responsible for providing flavors and also usually produce a highly potent natural aroma. While terpenes differ from one strain to another, there are a number of types that are consistently seen.

Beta-Caryophyllene

Beta-caryophyllene is a terpene that has the scent of sweet, woody, and spicy flavors. While this terpene found among various different strains, it is most commonly seen in topicals due to bonding closely with peripheral CB2 receptors. There are a fair number of medical benefits from this terpene as it has consistently shown to decrease inflammation and fight against anxiety and depression. One of the most interesting facts about beta-caryophyllene is that it reduces an individual’s craving for alcohol. While this terpene exists in many strains, the most popular can be found in OG Kush, Bubba Kush, and Chemdawg.

Humulene

Humulene is best known for helping cure cancer and reduce inflammation throughout the body. This terpene also decreases the appetite, which has a far different effect from a number of other terpenes. Studies have shown that humulene has effectively provided treatment for arthritis, bursitis, and fibromyalgia. Humulene is most frequently found in the sativa strain. Aside from cannabis, it can be described as having a beer scent as it’s also found in hops, cloves, and basil. Common strains that contain this terpene include White Widow and Headband.

Limonene

A few other common terpenes seen in cannabis includes limonene and pinene. Limonene contains a scent that is more citrus and lemon-based. It’s is a terpene that is considered to be more relaxing when it comes to effects.

Pinene

In contrast, the pinene terpene has a far different as it has a more natural earthly flavor. It can be described as having the taste and scent of pine needles. This terpene is known to have an uplifting and energetic effect that is seen in sativa strains.

Trans-Nerolidol

Compared to spicy and hop-based scents, the trans-nerolidol terpene takes on a far different aroma. It can be described as having a floral scent that incorporates influences of citrus and roses. This terpene’s medical impact isn’t as clear cut compared to humulene and beta-caryophyllene as there many tests still investigating the medical benefits. While the information is limited, it does have anti-fungal and antimicrobial attributes. Common strains that contain the trans-nerolidol terpene include Skywalker OG and Island Sweet Skunk.

If you’re a registered medical cannabis patient, the limits are three ounces of usable cannabis flower, forty-eight ounces of cannabis-infused edibles in solid form, two hundred sixteen ounces of cannabis drinkables, and twenty-one grams of cannabis concentrates, per the Washington State Department of Health.

Buying Dabs & Flower Cannabis at Satori – Fremont

Fremont has one of the best nightlife scenes in all of Seattle. Thousands of people frequent the area’s bars and venues for shows and other local entertainment. With so many tourists visiting the city’s 50+ pot shops, many shops have gotten lazy and their budtenders are focusing on selling cannabis that only has the “highest THC”.

Fremont doesn’t usually have many tourists besides those visiting the troll. When we’ve been in the area, we’ve been able to avoid those kinds of headaches thanks to the service provided by Have a Heart.

Now, Satori has taken over!

Although THC is a huge part of the cannabis purchasing equation, there is much more you should be looking for than just high percentages. When you’re in Washington or specifically in Fremont, THC doesn’t matter as much due to the inconsistencies of the testing at the state-certified labs. The labs still can’t seem to get things right which is why we spend so much time sharing updates with you here on the blog and also on our social media.

One of the first things you should be looking for at Satori – Fremont is who the actual experts are. You’ve got to find budtenders you can trust. Luckily, Satori has a solid medical marijuana background and each of their employees have extensive experience guiding consumers through the world of cannabis.

Find Budtenders You Trust

There really is no excuse for poor budtenders anymore. Satori has yet to show us a single bad experience and we’re excited to add their store into our partner network. People do have bad days sometimes but not really at Satori. They keep it chill, help you with some education, and always plug you with a solid product. It doesn’t hurt to ask for the most experienced budtender or to just simply ask for GreenRush. 😉

GreenRush Strains For Cinco De Mayo

It can be hard to identify good budtenders so we’ll help you cut through the fat. You’re going to need to be ok with asking some questions and using cannabis common sense. If a budtender can only describe weed as “fire” or “dank”, you might want to take what they say with a grain of salt. Would your waiter at a restaurant describe food that way?

Find someone who can communicate with you and other people. They need to be able to talk to you in a way that is professional and accurate. Being able to articulate strain knowledge in a digestible manner is huge and many stores overlook this valuable asset. Thankfully we can count on Satori to connect the dots for consumers.

Terpenes and THC both matter. When you’re talking with a budtender, ask them to tell you about flavor profiles, terpenes, and what genetics make up the strains you like. These types of questions will help you learn about what you like, identify what you don’t, and can help you increase the chance of having a better experience. You can’t look at the product outside of packaging in Washington, so budtenders are extra important to relay product information. Finding someone who knows all of this stuff is tricky. It takes time, patience, and you’ve got to be willing to be taught something new.

Terpenes > THC Numbers

Although THC packs the psychoactive effects, terpenes and THC combined dictates the specific effects strain by strain. Terpenes produce the aromas we smell and taste with cannabis. Citrus aromas come from terpenes myrcene and limonene. Hazes have terpinolene. Pine aromas come from pinene. Some of these terpenes help more THC cross the blood-brain barrier, which is why a strain can be more effective, despite having low THC numbers. If you find out what terpenes were present in the weed you like, you can shop specifically for that with other brands and strains.

Cannabis Brand Knowledge

There are over a thousand cannabis farms, labs, brands, and other businesses in Washington. Many of these companies offer more than one strain or product so it’s important to be up to date on each one. The majority of products can be found online via brand websites or social media. Satori doesn’t have digital assets created for their Fremont store but their other stores have menus that are probably similar to the one in Seattle. Satori utilizes their social media platforms to educate consumers on new products, current offerings, deals, plus much more.

Level Up Your Experience!

The overwhelming majority of people still don’t know a damn thing about cannabis. THC matters. Terpenes matter. Moisture, hand-trimming, and trichomes all matter! Until you know more about your cannabis and begin experiencing the different types of flavors and highs, you can really only learn so much. Go visit Satori, locate a budtender you vibe with, and take a leap of faith.

GreenRush Halloween Strains That Will Scare The Senses

9# Hammer

Be A Shallow Shopper

Not all cannabis is equal. In Washington state, the way certain brands produce and process cannabis can be the difference between sitting on a shelf for a year or selling out in a single day. If the weed looks good and you can smell it through the bag or through the glass, buy it. When it comes to GreenRush, there really is no question.

If the cannabis buds are covered in trichomes or if the flowers feel or sound dense when you shake the container,  buy it. Even if the cannabis ends up being a poor smoke, you’ll at least know more about what you’re going for. Good looking weed with lower THC numbers is generally always a better situation than higher THC cannabis that is cheaper, more dry, and outdoor.

Adults 21 and over can purchase up to one ounce of usable cannabis flower, 16 ounces of cannabis-infused edibles in solid form, 72 ounces of cannabis drinkables, and 7 grams of cannabis concentrates.

If you’re a registered medical cannabis patient, the limits are:

Three ounces of usable cannabis flower, forty-eight ounces of cannabis-infused edibles in solid form, two hundred sixteen ounces of cannabis drinkables, and twenty-one grams of cannabis concentrates, per the Washington State Department of Health.

Photo Recap Of The 47th Annual Northwest Folklife Festival

The allure of spending the Memorial Day weekend in the city brought me to the 47th annual Northwest Folklife Festival. Free admission, fantastic food, and energy made my an unexpected revelrous time. Festivals double as a new plug to satisfy my musical needs. I fiend for new sounds even when some of my favorite rappers like Raz Simone and Grynch drop long-awaited projects.

I was joined by Joey ‘J-Ping’ Brabo and Taylor Hart, friends of GreenRush and members of Respect My Region. It’s not a day with the RMR crew without rolling something up and taking some dabs. After J-Ping and myself took some rosin dabs and dabs of GreenRush Mt. Rainier sugar wax,  we picked up Taylor from the Pot Stop in Fremont and headed towards Seattle Center.

Friday is the first day of the festival and is the most low-key. Many vendor spots are still open and the grounds are noticeably empty, but the stages and performers were still lively for the entire time we roamed through the art booths, clothes vendors, and food tents. Friday was basically spent eating our way through the festival grounds. The first stop was a Vietnamese stand offering Banh mi’s, chicken skewers, and a few other Vietnamese dishes.

A Bahn Mi is a sandwich, it’s common Vietnamese street food. It’s usually chicken or pork with cucumber, cilantro, carrots, broccoli sprouts, mayo, and served on a baguette. The bread was warm and crunchy. The chicken was tender, while the veggies added a fresh crunch to each bite. A great first meal for the weekend.

Eating And Jamming My Way Through The Northwest Folklife Festival

While we walked around and enjoyed our Vietnamese food, one of the acts that caught my ear was Inner-City Medicine Show, a three-piece blues and jazz band. I’m a sucker for anything with a stand-up bass guitar.

My First Time At The Northwest Folklife Festival

After Inner-City Medicine Show played a couple songs, J-Ping introduced me to beignets. A beignet is a French pastry made from deep-fried choux pastry dough, that was made famous in New Orleans cafes.  They’re light and fluffy, covered in powdered sugar, chocolate sauce, and a fruit jelly.

Eating And Jamming My Way Through The Northwest Folklife FestivalThis donut-crepe hybrid that was once unknown to me, is now one of my favorite pastries. The dough is airy and the powdered sugar is sweet and fluffy, the whole thing is like a delicious pillow. While the beignets settled, we meandered through the artists’ booths and munched on artisanal chocolates. Orange creme, salted caramel, espresso and cheesecake chocolates were all so rich, only one got completely finished. But the unique flavor experiences made them worth the money.

Eating And Jamming My Way Through The Northwest Folklife Festival

One of my favorite northwest artists, Justin Hillgrove was there. other artists that I had work I enjoyed were Chris Paulsen’s pottery and Jesse Link’s paintings. Many of Link’s paintings are aquarium themed, my favorite was creepy red octopus tied up with a noose.

Aramis O. Hamer is the painter who painted the Rihanna painting below. The red and yellow colors spoke to me and I liked the old-school pin-up girl art style. Hamer confirmed this by stating the painting was inspired by Marilyn Monroe.

Hamer talked about working with pot shops on various projects in the past, as well as expressing interest in live painting sessions, like when Perry Porter painted a mural during our Respect My Region’s 7 Year Anniversary.

It wasn’t long before we continued to stuff food down our faces. I grabbed shrimp and mango taco while Taylor and J-Ping waited in another line.  It was one of the better seafood tacos I’ve had in my life. Delicious and juicy shrimp, fresh cilantro, red peppers, onions, and a chili mango vinaigrette. The corn tortilla was cooked perfectly and set the whole dish off.

Eating And Jamming My Way Through The Northwest Folklife FestivalWhile I was eating my taco and taking pictures for this article, I caught the attention of one of the cooks in the neighboring noodle tent. A man who identified himself as ‘Moe Noodles,’ asked what I was taking pictures for. When I told him about RMR, he asked if he could be in the article, and I happily obliged. He was all smiles and started flexing his noodle cooking prowess for the camera. People like him have infectious energy and make my job much easier and less awkward.

After visiting with Moe, J-Ping and Taylor greeted me with delicious treats dipped and drizzled in chocolate. T had strawberries dipped in white and milk chocolate, and J-Ping had a piece of cheesecake dipped in chocolate and topped with raspberries and white chocolate drizzle. I can’t speak for the cheesecake, but the strawberry dipped in white chocolate was one of the better things I tasted all weekend. The strawberry itself was so ripe and juicy it made me do a double take.

I went to the festival early by myself on Saturday. At the Mercer Street entrance, I was greeted by a group of dancers in lederhosen and a bandleader with an accordion. It was just nice listening to music I had no emotional connection to at all. I just stayed and went where my ears took me. My first day was lead by my stomach, but today was lead in my ears. Several times throughout the festival, the music made me felt like I was on the set of a Pirates of the Caribbean film.

It’s not a festival in my book without some pork sliders. Tender pork, tangy barbeque sauce, slaw and a plain Hawaiian roll make for something that’s so simple you can make it at home but is delicious anywhere and always.

All of the best performances were along the sidewalks and vendor booths. This is one of the best parts about Folklife, you don’t even have to use a schedule to have a great time. You can just let your senses guide you and you’re bound to have a great time.

Everywhere you went there were happy families and people dancing. There was one drum circle outside of the armory that brought together a crowd of fifty or so people, some breaking into dance as the rest would circle around them and cheer them on like a scene from Stomp The Yard.

This best act on a stage I saw in the two days was Tres Leches, a Mexican punk jam band. Two guitarists and a drummer would riff to an ecstatic crowd. They didn’t have a lot of energy on stage, but their music was rockin’. The Northwest Folklife Festival is free to attend, they just ask for a $10-$20 donation. Cheap admission lets me spend more money on food and tipping the artists that caught my attention. Eating And Jamming My Way Through The Northwest Folklife Festival

Good Morning Bedlam was my favorite act I saw all weekend, and I caught them on my way out of the festival.  A midwestern folk band that had a lot of soul and emotion accompanying their sound.

Good Morning Bedlam was throwing down some heartfelt folk tunes and I was bummed they were getting drowned out by the stage behind them, so I decided to buy their album, and it was a pleasant thing to listen to on the drive home, it was not mad about the $10 I threw in their guitar case. I decided to grab a glazed lemon biscuit for the walk back to my car. It was fluffy and warm, while the glaze was sweet, light with a real lemon flavor.

All in all, I had a great time at the Northwest Folklife Festival. If I’m around Seattle for Memorial Weekend next year, you can bet I’ll be back. Next time, I’ll research and plan out my trip in advance to take advantage of the cultural theme instead of just winging it.
